New Year - New Goals
The New Year has arrived! Like many people, one of my New Year traditions is setting goals. Also like many people, I sometimes fall flat part way through the year without reaching those goals. Still, even when I don't reach my goals, I usually learn something along the way (often something along the lines of what won't work). So I want to share some of the things I've learned along the way that might help you reach your goals.
1. Keep Your Goals Realistic
In some ways, a year is a long time, and in other ways, it isn't much time at all. Keep that in mind when deciding how many goals you want to set for yourself, or what kind of goals you want to set. You can only do so much, so be careful you aren't setting yourself up for failure from the start.
2. Actually Have a Plan
Goals are only goals if you have a plan to reach it. Otherwise it's just a wish.
3. Write it Down
I don't know about you, but I'm much more likely to finish something if I write it down. Seeing it in front of me gives me that extra kick to get going, and keeps it in front of me so I don't forget.
It's a New Year, which means new opportunities to reach your goals. You've got this!
