Make Your Mornings Easy(ier)
Have you ever had one of those mornings? You know, the one where you forget to set your alarm, oversleep, rush around like crazy, and end up going to work still exhausted, with no breakfast, and wearing clothes that don't really match?
No? Just me? Okay.
Well, for anyone else out there that happens to be not a morning person, I wanted to share some tips that I've learned along the way to make hectic mornings just a little less hectic.
1. A Good Morning Starts the Night Before
And no, I don't mean you stay up all night until it counts as morning. But being successful in having a good morning is impacted by how you plan for it the night before. A couple things you can do the night before include:
- Pick out your clothes for the next day
- If you pack your lunch, fix it that night
2. Don't Hit Snooze
We're all guilty of this, but lets be real, has anyone ever actually felt more rested after 'five more minutes'? I know I haven't. Go ahead and get up when you're supposed to get up. Once you get moving you'll feel much more alert than you did in those seconds right after your alarm went off.
3. Morning Quiet Time
I like to set aside some time in the morning to spend praying and reading my devotions for the day. I find that it helps to set the tone for my whole day.
These are a couple tricks that help make my mornings more manageable, but they may or may not be a good fit for your life. Really, the most important takeaway is that you need to have a plan that fits you to make your mornings easier (and don't freak out when things don't go according to plan, because some days they just won't).
So good luck, and good morning!
