Making the Most of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday

Sanctity of Human Life Sunday will be January 19, 2020.  We have some tips to help you make the most of the day.

  1. Download our free resources by clicking on the highlighted links.

  2. Schedule a specific Sunday to speak about Life to your congregates

  3. Request a speaker: we would be more than happy to speak to your congregation about the resources available to women and men facing unplanned pregnancies.

  4. Get your congregation involved with Choose Life luminaries.

  5. Give a call to action.  There are many ways your congregation can help make a difference.  Some way include:

    • Volunteer with Palmetto Women's Center

    • Start a support group like Surrendering the Secret for women that have had abortions in their past

    • Run a Changelope Campaign to raise funds for Palmetto Women's Center

    • Help prevent some of the struggles of unplanned pregnancies by engaging with your youth and their parents through "Yours Truly", a 6 week bible study for students and parents. For More information about this program below.

  6. Remember to include grace and hope in your message.  There may be individuals in your congregation that have been impacted by abortion.  It's important that they know that God's grace is available for them.  If you know of women that have been impacted by abortion and are struggling to heal from it, encourage them to meet with our Biblical counselors.

  7. Continue emphasizing the importance of life after January through these Bible Studies.

  8. Miss the official date? No problem.  The sanctity of human life is a topic that can be covered any time of year, and these resources are still available.

Healthy Relationship Curriculum

We believe that it is vital for parents and their children to have ongoing conversations about relationships, sex, and what the Bible has to say about these topics.  We also understand that these can be awkward conversations to have, and that sometimes people don't know where or how to start them.  That's where we come in.

PWC's healthy relationship curriculum is a six course study designed for parents and youth.  It gives youth a foundation for what healthy relationships are supposed to look like based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 while providing parents with the tools to generate conversations about sex, dating, and relationships with their teens.

Become a Mentor

The deepest connections form when someone cares for someone else with no expectation of something in return. PWC's mentor program is an initiative that connects pregnant women considering abortion or women in a crisis pregnancy with trained caring and compassionate mentors in York County and Chester Counties.

Mentors provide social support throughout the pregnancy and can continue to be involved up to the baby's first birthday.  Mentors troubleshoot mentee challenges and assist with or connects mentees to the appropriate resources, which may include transportation to and from prenatal visits church services and/or events, WIC enrollment, referrals to childbirth, parenting classes and more.

If you would like to become a mentor for a mom in York County give our office a call or email us for more information.
